Why it exists
On October 23, PSA published the stolen cert numbers as a PDF: 6,451 rows, each with a cert number and PSA's short description of the card. The file has no grades and no values, and a long PDF is hard to search on a phone at a card show.
SlabHeist turns that list into something you can use on the spot. Paste a cert number and you know at once whether it is on PSA's list. Open a card to see every stolen copy, what the card sells for in PSA 10, 9 and 8 where we have found public sales, and who to call if someone offers you one. Collectors, reporters and the people whose orders were taken can see what was on the truck, sorted by value.
Who runs it
SlabHeist is an independent public-service site. PSA, Collectors, FedEx, the marketplaces and the police have no part in it, and nobody involved in the theft or the investigation asked for it or pays for it.
It may carry ads later to cover its costs. Ads will stay off the cert checker's results, and the privacy policy will say what they collect before the first one runs.
What we will not do
- Name anyone as a suspect. No arrests have been reported, and PSA's list holds cert numbers and card descriptions, not people.
- Publish details about the people whose cards were stolen. When a collector talks about their own loss, we name the outlet that reported it and present it as their account.
- Invent a price. A card gets a value only from public sales we can link to. Every other card says "Price check pending".
- Copy price-guide estimates from other services, or use PSA's logo or label. The evidence tag on our slabs is our own design.
Not affiliated with PSA
SlabHeist is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by PSA or Collectors Universe, Inc. PSA is a trademark of Collectors Universe, Inc. We use the name to say whose list this is and which grades we mean.
PSA's own pages are the source of truth: its update on the theft (opens in a new tab), the list of stolen certs (opens in a new tab) and its cert lookup (opens in a new tab). A slab that is recovered may change status there before it changes here.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, email hello@slabheist.com. Tell us the page, what is wrong and a link that shows the right answer. A recent public sale of a card we have not priced is welcome too. We check every report and fix what we can confirm.
